Did i get it right? Thank you. Reply Gurunistha May 26, 2015 at 12:58 pm Yes Prahlad Bhakta, that was the joke. He’s going to get in trouble with the border control for coming from a country that is not recognized as legitimate. Another way I thought of it was that the devotee is spiritually on another platform and it totally doesn’t compute with the common people. So in that reading the tatastha-region could’ve been replaced with any other spiritual reality. Reply Syamananda dasa May 25, 2015 at 7:12 am Srila Sridhara Maharaja and Srila Narayana Maharaja respectively have referred to it as “fictitious”, and “imaginary”. Reply John May 25, 2015 at 7:50 am Syamananda Prabhu, Can you please also share where SSM and SNM have said this? Thanks! Reply Syamananda dasa May 25, 2015 at 9:07 pm John, SSM’s can probably only be found in the folio of his transcribed talks. The one from SNM is in the book Journey of the Soul. Reply Hayagriva das May 25, 2015 at 12:27 pm Found this quote: 3. Tatastha means literally, “that which is on the border-line as between land and water.” This intermediate power does not belong to any definable region of the Person of Sri Krsna. It manifests itself on the border-line between the inner and the outer body of the Absolute. by Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Notes On The Bhagavata, PART II – The Teaching of Srimad-Bhagavatam, Transcendental Epistemology – A Summary of the Tattva-sandarbha, Lord Sri Krsna and His Three Principle Energies. Reply Kula-pavana May 25, 2015 at 1:46 pm These two sentences: “This intermediate power does not belong to any definable region of the Person of Sri Krsna” and ” It manifests itself on the border-line between the inner and the outer body of the Absolute” mutually contradict one another. Reply Hayagriva das June 12, 2015 at 2:02 am Dear Kula-pavana, I found the quote in the collection of AcaryaBase by Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha, I suppose the English translation of Bhaktivinoda Thakura from the Bengali has caused the effect of what you seem to experience, and sorry, there is no Bengali wordings to check with the original. For the purpose of the comic motive it makes sense to me of what Gurunistha Prabhu meant with the artwork. Customs office: Traveller: “I am coming from the land where god resides” 🙂 Reply Leave a Reply to Hayagriva das Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
