Reply Gurunistha dasa May 19, 2011 at 11:39 pm They sell veggie burgers in Indian McDonald’s, right? Reply Gaua-Vijaya May 30, 2011 at 11:56 pm Yes they do. Aloo tikki burger !! Reply Bhakta Jon December 9, 2019 at 4:55 am We have veggie burgers in the UK McDonald’s too! Spicy veggie deli sandwich is a guilty pleasure… Reply Paramananda das May 20, 2011 at 7:57 am Still, I can’t get it – a devotee, in the Holy Dham – to eat at McDon*** – it’s like supporting cow murder and children exploitation… Maybe I’m too much of a fundamentalist. Reply swami bv tripurari May 20, 2011 at 9:09 am I think the idea is that, unfortunately, it gets that bad . . . Reply Gurunistha dasa May 20, 2011 at 4:31 pm Don’t get me wrong, I totally agree with you that devotees shouldn’t eat at McD’s but the reality is that a lot of devotees don’t give a damn. Reply Paramananda das May 25, 2011 at 4:34 am I didn’t know there is such reality… vāñchā-kalpatarubhyaś ca kṛpā-sindhubhya eva ca patitānāḿ pāvanebhyo vaiṣṇavebhyo namo namaḥ Let there be Maha-Prasad for all! Reply B.GOVINDA RAM DASA May 26, 2011 at 2:29 am Its something we must do very important ,beat back that mind and tongue. Reply Bhakti-rasa dasi May 30, 2011 at 9:37 pm To me using the McD’s cup shows that careless treatment of the dhama has the same result as eating at McD’s. While on a Govardhana parikram last year we were served prasadam on styrofoam plates – only one other devotee refused to use the plates. After the meal, devotees simply tossed their styrofoam plates on the side of the road and the cows came to eat the remnants, eating the plates as well (slow cow murder). Then on the same parikram further down the path, there was a group of children playing beside a pile of burning styrofoam plates, with clouds of greyish green smoke blowing right in their faces (child exploitation) One need not go to McD’s to support cow murder and child exploitation – you can have the same results eating in totally acceptable and unfortunately non-objectionable ways. Reply Balarama Dasa January 9, 2012 at 7:22 pm Might have been more realistic and just as hard-hitting to make the offender maybe a householder (with hair) and not a brahmachary. None of OUR bhaktas would spend $$ with Mickey D! LOL Reply prabhanudas March 25, 2012 at 11:41 am in a purport to one of the verses of srimad-bhagavatam srila prabhupada says that even without eating or drinking in such a sinful establishment, simply by sitting there, there are adverse reactions. he remarks that these are the subtle laws of material nature that people are unaware of. so if just sitting there is inauspicious, what to speak of buying something even vegetarian from the animal killers and thus supporting their business. for our own good and the good of others it is probably best to give a dham.
